In the museums:

 

Rococo and home drawings shows at the Cooper Hewitt

Timescapes, a timelapse video map of the city, at the Museum of the City of New York

Horrible contemporary native art at the National Museum of the American Indian

Chris Burden’s giant erector set sculpture at Rockefeller Center

Miotte Foundation/Chelsea Art Museum

Eyebeam cultural space

Onassis Cultural Center

Deep Comedy show at Marian Goodman Gallery

New Museum’s new building on the Bowery

Gada Amer at the Brooklyn Museum

“Eminent Domain” at the New York Public Library

Prefabricated houses, Salvador Dali, and Esquire magazine covers at the Modern

Hong Kong/New York at the Skyscraper Museum

Jeff Koons on the roof, Super Heroes in the Costume Institute, and amazing Chinese ceramics at the Met

Buckminster Fuller at the Whitney

Olafur Eliason and Finnish artists at P.S. 1

Transit Museum

Olafur Eliason’s New York City Waterfalls, from a bunch of places around the harbor

Circle Line cruise around Manhattan

Fort Greene and the new Brooklyn Flea Market

Cathedral of St. John the Divine

Hall of Fame of Great Americans at Bronx Community College

Grand Central

Shopping in Chinatown, Tribeca, SoHo, NoHo, Little Italy, Nolita, Williamsburg, and the East Village

Saw the new Lilli Pulitzer store on Madison, but don’t think we’d look good in pink and lime green

Battery Park City Esplanade (looks better every year)

Williamsburg Bridge (longer and not as exciting as walking across the Brooklyn Bridge)

Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City (fabulous park, behind the Pepsi sign in Queens)

PATH, and the Newark subway

Governors Island: way cool now, and soon to be cooler, a five minute ferry from the Battery
